A wounded Army veteran missing part of his left leg carried his racing partner across the Boston Marathon finish line on Monday, according to WCVB in Boston.
According to ABC affiliate WCVB-TV, Earl Granville picked up his running partner and carried her to the finish line while holding an American flag despite having a prosthetic leg.
It’s unclear why Granville had to carry his partner.
The station reports that Granville is a nine-year veteran that lost a portion of his leg to a roadside bomb while serving in Afghanistan in 2008.
This isn’t Granville’s first marathon either — he used a hand-bike to compete in marathons in Boston, Chicago, Detroit and New York despite his injury but didn’t use a bike this time around.
