Florida police are searching for a “cape-wearing” robber who was caught on camera shooting a man in the face.
Diego Suarez-Perez, 39, of Miami, was entering his vehicle after purchasing goods at Tony’s Food Market, when he was shot in the face by the suspect.
Surveillance footage that was taken on November 4 shows the suspect wearing a white “cape” and riding a bicycle past another man who was standing outside the food market.
The clip then cuts to Suarez-Perez, dressed in red, walking out of the convenience store and to his white truck.
As the man tries to get into his vehicle, the suspect approaches him, brandishes a firearm, and demands money.
Due to a language barrier, the victim did not understand the subject’s demands, and was subsequently shot in the face by the subject, according to police.
The victim is then seen running behind another vehicle parked in the area as the suspect flees on his bicycle.
Authorities said the victim was transported to JMH Ryder Trauma, where he is in critical condition.
Police have not released any more information on the victim.
