Scotland: Man Arrested and Facing Prison for Carrying a Potato Peeler (Without a Reasonable Excuse)…

A man was arrested in Dunfermline, Scotland, on Saturday for carrying a potato peeler in a public place “without reasonable excuse” and faces up to four years in prison.

The Dunfermline Sheriff Court confirmed to Breitbart London that Scott Walker, 39, of the James Bank Hostel, James Street had appeared Monday, charged under the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995, for carrying “an article which had a blade or which was sharply pointed, namely a potato peeler”.

Sheriff Pino di Emidio ordered that Walker should return to the court on May 16th for sentencing over the crime, for which he could receive up to four years’ imprisonment. The man was on bail for another unspecified offence at the time of his arrest.

No-one besides the military should have one of these…

Local newspaper the Dunfermline Press And West of Fife Advertiser reports Walker has been in Appin Crescent, Dunfermline, with the potato peeler at the time of his arrest. The paper quotes the defence solicitor Selina McKay who said her client “suffers from significant learning difficulties which have been lifelong”.

The unusual arrest comes amid heightened public interest over knife crime, as UK capital London experiences an unprecedented crime wave with 62 suspected murders in the capital so far in 2018 — leaving the city overtaking traditionally higher-crime New York for the first time in over 200 years.

While London is an ostensibly gun-free zone, a number of these killings have been shootings, while others have been committed with knives.

    1. Well, to be fair…a Scot can mess you up with a potato peeler.
Sad to see what’s become of Europe. I used to be able to count on Britain, Scotland, and Ireland to be a wall against the liberal sickness of the continent, but now they’re importing murderous madmen, and disarming their own citizens of potato peelers, screwdrivers, and pliers to facilitate their demise. It’s just sad…

      1. Next item on list to ban, the cotton ear bud.
What possible reason could anybody offer in their defence for carrying one in the street.

After all it has a plastic shaft which isn’t biodegradable and dangerous to animals as they swallow it whole. These are not my words, some freak of an environmental terrorist said that.

As for the cotton wool bud bit.
In the hands of a child a deadlier weapon has yet to be invented

Even worse, wasn’t it invented by the Russians?

Just in case you think I’m being silly, the latest of hysterical panicky planned bans is going to be the Wet Wipe. (BBC News).
Apparently it’s made out of a plastic fabric.
It is solely responsible for blocking up the sewage systems of the UK,
And unbelievably can be found in the hands of young children.

At the very least it needs licensing and be kept under lock and key.

Who took the Great out of Britain again? (Giggle)

        1. You know, they make some nice “walking sticks” now.

I don’t care for the ones with a hidden sword, but some are heavy and could be used in a pinch. Who could object to a gentleman who might need a cane for assistance?

Can you guys get those over there?
I’m thinking of shipping some basic items over there…”Brutus” key chains, “walking sticks,” stun guns, pepper spray, and maybe some of the better air rifles. Sort of a new “lend-lease.” Some of that is probably illegal in the U.K., but as our instructor for our carry permit said, “I’d rather be judged by twelve, than carried by six.”

Sometimes I marvel at how blessed we are in the U.S….Every gas station has knives, pepper spray, stun-guns, etc. Within 20 minutes I could purchase any blade from a cheap Pakistani switchblade for $8.00, to a quality spring assisted folder for $60.00 and up that will slice through a car door. My wife Freeda is setting next to me working…She could leave right now legally carrying her pistol and return in around an hour with any firearm she desires (and can afford), as long as it’s not full-auto capable. (Those would take more money and more time.) With her purchase, one of the stores will give her free range time to break in her new firearm.

Stay safe, alert, and free my friend…
