Good Guy With a Gun: Man Sneaks Into 12-Year-Old’s Bedroom, Strips Down…Gets Some Justice…

All I’m going to say here is:

You have to be really, really stupid to mess with someone’s child.

You have to be really, really stupid to break into someone’s home.

Play stupid games… win stupid prizes…

A suspect who allegedly broke into a 12-year-old’s bedroom in Louisville, Kentucky, was confronted by the homeowner then shot six times.

WDRB reports the 12-year-old got under her blankets and texted her mother to let her know the suspect was allegedly in her room.

Her mother, Tina Burton, said, “She hid under the cover, turned her light down, turned her volume down on her phone to text me. When she peeked under the cover to see where he was at, she got up and ran away. She went to the back room. And I think that was really brave and smart of her.

The suspect allegedly walked to the kitchen in his underwear, where he was confronted by Burton’s boyfriend, Ali Bracey. There was a physical altercation with Burton finally retrieving a gun and handing it to Bracey, who shot the suspect repeatedly.

More on this story:

According to court documents, it happened around 7 a.m. on April 14. That’s when Tina Burton she says her next door neighbor broke into her house, entered her 12-year-old daughter’s room and started undressing.

“He got undressed in my daughter’s room,” Burton said. “Like, what was your intentions? … You are sick.”

Despite the danger, Burton says her daughter didn’t panic.

“She was really smart,” Burton said. “She hid under the cover, turned her light down, turned her volume down on her phone to text me. When she peeked under the cover to see where he was at, she got up and ran away. She went to the back room. And I think that was really brave and smart of her.”

Burton says all three of her daughters were home at the time, and thanks to her oldest daughter’s quick thinking, they came out of the situation unharmed.

LMPD says Oliver found his way from the girl’s bedroom to the kitchen, wearing only his underwear.

That’s when Burton’s boyfriend Ali Bracey, says he went into the kitchen and yelled for Oliver to leave. “I told him to get out, and he didn’t want to move. And he growled at me.”

When Oliver refused, Bracey began hitting him with a broom — and anything else he could find.

After the fight continued for some time, police say Burton got a gun and gave it to Bracey, who says he shot at Oliver six times before Oliver finally ran away.

“He ended up getting six shots, period,” Bracey said.

Police found Oliver and arrested him a short time later.

Investigators say they found a small bag of heroin they believe Oliver dropped inside the home when he was taking his clothes off.

Oliver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and was booked into Metro Corrections Sunday afternoon after his injuries were treated.

He is now charged with burglary, assault, and possession of a controlled substance.

Oliver was in a wheelchair during his court appearance on Monday. The judge noted his lengthy criminal record and set a $50,000 bond.

Although Oliver lives next door, the family has never actually met him. Bracey says other neighbors agree with his actions.

“Everyone has actually commended me on what I did. There hasn’t been any real backlash other than the family (Oliver’s family). But everyone in the neighborhood has commended me on what I did.”

Burton says she has no intention of moving out of the neighborhood.

“We’re going to stay. I’m not going to let anyone run me out of my home.”

              1. Never liked the .45. Too much gun for me and I found I couldn’t double tap it effectively.

9mm worked but as always shot placement had to be spot on which sometimes isn’t easy in turmoil or onto a fast moving target. Then central mass was often the only option, which isn’t always the best.

But, the Browning GP has that cavernous 13 shot capacity. Nice! That and it was made properly i.e. no plastic!

Yet all we could field was FMJ as apparently expanding ammo wasn’t “polite” enough.

As always there were, and still are, times when military conventions really screw the pooch.
